Schabak 1/43 cars

The German company Schabak is more well known for its scale model jet airliners, but in the 1980s & 90s it produced a fairly wide range of die-cast cars in both 1/43 and 1/25, mainly for the real manufacturers.

Here are 4 of my 1/43s from them. i used to have a few more, but sold some of them to a friend. They are Ford Escort Mk5 variants, the 5 door hatchback, 2 door cabrio, and Ford Orion. All have opening doors/boots/bonnets, and strangely, the hatch & Orions engines are the 1.8 diesel. the Cabrio is the CVH efi engine. The blue Escort, and gold Orion are both right hand drive too.




I also have some 1/25 Schabaks, which include the mk 5 Escort, a Mk3 Granada, and 2 Ford Sierra's. One is a 2.0i Ghia saloon (Euro versions had the hatch front end strangely), and an RS Cosworth saloon. all have opening bonnets & doors, and in the case of the Escort & Sierras, opening boots too.

Here is a photo of my now sold on Schabak Ford Escort 1.8D estate, showing all its opening features. It now belongs to a good friend of mine who collects models too, so I know it went to a good home.
