Austin K8
Hi Kris
I came upon this link http://www.austinmemories.com/page67/page75/page75.html
No doubt you know it already but just in case.
I might be able to use one of these on my layout.. only a couple of years 'out' and I'm not a purist

Hi Ken,
I hadn't come across that site and very interesting it is. Might be a little difficult to find one as they were limited edition but if I come across any, I'll let you know.

You might even be able to pick one up at your local toy/train fair, or that certain auction site ebay

I've just looked on Digby's website Ken, and the Orstin Service version is £25..Sounds like its getting rare...And no problem Ken.

Glad I bought it when I did then. I advance ordered them from Time Tunnel models and only paid £9.75 each. They are nice but £25.....

Makes a change for a die cast to go up in value! I've yet to sample my local diecast outlet. Unusually it is inside a glazing firm on the outskirts of town. Place has a few diecasts in the window and a Vanguards sign.

Just realised, the real version of that van would have been for the local Austin dealer here, at Majors Corner in Ipswich. Sadly the building is no longer there, but I'm sure that there is an old painted sign on one of the buildings advertising them. Will look when I'm out tomorrow.

Interesting. I thought the days of shops like that were long gone. We had a old style DIY store that used to buy in plastic model kits and sell them on. You could get some real gems.
