Went to the toyfair at Ipswich today, organised by John & Julie Webb. It was at Rushmere Sports Centre to the east of the town centre (about 3 miles or so). Entrance fee was £2.. Would say there were about 30 or so stalls, quite a few had quite big spreads, and there was something for all collectors there. Picked up a few more 1/43 for the collection. Was a fair few there to be honest, but quite a few LFT's..

It was published on J&J fairs website that there were doubts over future events there, but there was a poster advertising a future event in June.

J&J Fairs Ipswich Toyfair Empty Norwich Toy Fair, also Spalding & Huntingdon

Post  FenlandPaul Sun Feb 20, 2011 1:30 pm

Marty;

Didn't make it today but I've found that the Norwich Fair on the Norfolk Showground has been well worth the trip in the past. Being out on a limb from the rest of the country, I've found prices very reasonable there for both 1:50 commercials and 1:43 cars.

With the DJ toyfair at Bretton in Peterborough now defunct, the only others I go to now are Springfields at Spalding Lincs and Wood Green animal Shelter at Huntingdon, all J&J Fairs

Webby is the market leader, and when I was in the trade, I rarely had a bad Webby fair, apart from in Halifax (tight Yorkshire....) I used to like going to York when I lived up north..Think I will pop along to Wood Green next time its on. Was a regular stallholder there when in the trade, and was always worth the longish trek down from Leeds.

Webby is also starting a brand new fair in Yorkshire too, at the brand new conference centre at Elland Road in Leeds, which will be great for visiting punters, as A) big car park,B) slap bang the side of the M621 junction C) On a major bus route (51,51A), and D) has a Muccy D's for nosebag, and a Subway bang opposite, and a pub handy too..

This replaces the old Morley fair, which was axed when the sports centre was flattened, and the new venue at Morley High was found unsuitable due mainly to parking issues
