What is going on nowadays? I went to 3 model shops today in the local-ish area, and not one had any of the modern range of Vanguards in. One had about half a dozen really old ones at nearly £20 each (2 of them were 'Oxbriges' from the early Corgi takeover in the late 90s). One shop in town is well stocked though for rail buffs, and the range of 1/76 diecasts was huge! Must have had well over 200 Oxfords/Classics & Tracksides...Had a few Cararama 1/43's in, but I'm really after a Vanguards stockist. Might have to go down to Colchester. I know there is a model shop there that did diecasts a few years back.

What are you looking for Marty ? I have had a lot of luck with Stewart DMV http://stewartdmv.co.uk/ when it comes to Vanguards. He offers free post as well.

I'm after the latest release Cortina Mk4 Ghia. I prefer to check out what I'm buying though first.

Vanguards can vary in quality, especially when its a new casting. I'm wanting to find someone fairly local too to put in orders for future releases, as there are quite a few I'm after. Plus there is the off chance in a shop that stocks em, there might just be something else that catches my eye.

Hoooooooray, at last! Mankim at Colchester have a pretty good range, although they aren't the cheapest around. Picked up the Cortina Mk4 Ghia and it isnt a bad model. good range of other diecast, model railway and Scalex. Well off the beaten track though at the bottom of Shrub End Road...
