Hello - My first post in this forum - as recommended by Keb1 (along with a certain Firefox add-on).
My main interest is 7mm railway modelling so I am always interested in obtaining suitable sized scale road vehicle models
for my particular period of modelling - British - circa 1920 - 1950 - and usually in any condition.

Welcome aboard Ken. O gauge is near as makes no odds 1/43, and Oxford seem to be slowly getting round to modelling vehicles from that era. Hope you find our little forum helpful. and do feel free to join in. We are a happy bunch of peeps on here. Oxford Die-cast have an excellent website, and you can view online for free their latest magazine, which often has news of up and coming releases from Taff & the gang, who all appear to be ex Corgi. I know one of their chief designers is ex Corgi Classics.

http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/ is their homepage. They also do direct mail order.

Thanks a lot for that link Marty

There's at least 2 vehicles in their 1/43 list which would be feasible for my layout Very Happy

Sunbeam Talbots on their way and Armstrong Siddleys. Should be right up your street. And that's what forums are about. Their 1/43 scale taxis are absolutely superb. Might be tempted with one of them myself.

I can see my bank balance shrinking soon Very Happy

I think I need to hit the toy fairs too when I can and pick up some battered vehicles to restore

Aye the junk boxes can be a treasure trove Smile I went to my local toyfair yesterday, and picked up a few 1/43 bargains. Too modern for you though as they are 1960s to 1980s..Plus sometimes you come across dealers clearing out joblots cheap.

Marty -

Would it be within your rules for me to open a 1/43 topic letting members know I'm interested
in buying vehicles of my period in virtually any condition from new to scrapbox?

Or is there a For Sale/Wanted section I haven't found yet - my fault, been pushed for time this week.

Cheers

Ken

I was thinking of adding a wanted/forsale section. Will do this later on today.

Ah... Oh well, thank goodness for Ebay.... Very Happy

The Swap Shop is a great idea. Never know what we might be able to help each other out with.
