Michelin collection 1/43 vans
Yes, I bought some of these locally last summer, I treated myself to the LWB Peugeot like yours and at least one of the Citroen H type vans, a Renault Galion boxvan and a Citroen U23. They were nicely detailed and so cheap I could not resist! I will take photos if anyone wants to see what they are like.

Michelin collection 1/43 vans
First one of my Michelin collection is the wonderful Citroen H type.
The detailing is good, the wheels look right, and the icing on the cake is the man perched above the windscreen!
Another to follow tonight, then I will wait for some daylight for the others....

Michelin collection 1/43 vans
Last one for tonight is a Renault 'Galion' from the Michelin collection.
This and lots of others were being sold by a Yorkshire chain of shops on the same shelf as children's cheap plastic toys, I don't think the shop knew what they were dealing with here!
Anyway, I just had to get one of each type into my basket quickly and confirm I was over 14 years old.
I am still short of one or two to make up the full set, (can anyone confirm what is the full Michelin set please?).

They really are great models for the price. Did you get any of the magazines that go with them ? If not, I'll look through mine and try to find out what the complete collection consists of. I know there is a Citroen DS and another H van without the Greek lettering as I have both.
Cheers,
Kris.

Michelin 1/43 scale vans
I have the white Citroen ID estate or 'break' and 3 or 4 other dark coloured vans/lorries which are nowhere near as eye-catching as the bright yellow models.
I will have a list of what I have up to now & some more photos in the morning.
There was a full set for sale on ebay a while ago but I didn't take too much notice then, there may have been 18 in the set but not sure.

Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
I know there is a Mk1 Transit in the range too.My mate Mike has one. They turn up on Ebay from time to time. Also there seems to be a blue VW bay window van turn up occasionally..
Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
There was also a six wheel Citroen DS test car which I rather fancied. However, it seems to go for about 20 quid which seems a lot when you consider how much you can get the others for.

Re: Michelin Collection
I like your VW, I will have to look out for that one.
A couple more from my Michelin collection, a Citroen U 23 and a Morris Cowley commercial.
Bought for 2.99 each in a Yorkshire hardware store two weeks ago.

Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
Cheers Dave..A hardware store you say? Blimey..The VW Combi is a nice model, but needs the rear lights altering with a bit of Humbrol, as they are just clear red lenses. It isnt seen about much. There are a few on a certain auction site at the mo.
Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
Does anyone know where I can get a set of screwdrivers to get these swines off their bases? The annoying triangular heads on them....Argh..Ruining my flat blade screwdrivers as they keep slipping when trying to get them off their plinths.
Security screwdriver bits
Screwfix sell a security bit set for about a fiver which should have one of them pesky three cornered bits!Marty B wrote:Does anyone know where I can get a set of screwdrivers to get these swines off their bases? Need to find a local branch Cheers Dave. Not sure why Altaya use those screws..A right royal pain in the...
Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
I've just noticed Altaya have cheated with the Veedub. It has the microbus interior, complete with seats and spare wheel holder
Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans

Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
I honestly do not know why Altaya haven't done a British range of models yet. They would sell, of that I'm certain. I've already modded my Austin j4 van to right hand drive and the interior moulding allows for right hand drive...Hmmm
Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
Wish they would ! If they gave the same treatment they did with the French Stuff, it would be heaven.

Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
If they did British outline 70s & 80s cars, well, erm.. I will just have to be happy with the Vanguards choice at the mo..
I just wish someone would do a model of the Bedford CF..We have the Transit, so come on Oxford...

Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
Great catch.
I know they did a pickup but that is a weird one. The indicators are in the bumper, not the wings and there is a little quarter window behind the doors. I wonder if it has been converted from a van ? I have seen some wonderful conversions in the past including a double deck camper and a RR lookalike but this this looks like a production vehicle. A bit more research is required I think.
It's a good excuse to post my Norev 1:43 prototype 2CV pickup....

Re: Michelin Collection 1/43 vans
Yup it is a weird one, but that rear body has a 'factory look'. I'm wondering if that pickup is a lot older than the X plate that it carries, as it has the early high mount indicators? It's certainly an oddbod
