Altaya Collection
Hi folks, you may not have heard of these, but they are a manufacturer of 1/43 scale cars & vans, that were sold overseas as part of magazine partworks. i have a few from this manufacturer, and all were picked up for under £10, and are often re boxed IXO models. I have such delights as a Talbot Samba cabrio, Mk1 Renault 5, Talbot Horizon, & Seat 124 police car (Lada 1200 lookalike). Photos to follow when I get round to unpacking them. Images of the Seat 124 and Talbot Horizon can be found in the new Emergency Services Models topic

Renault 5 mk1
I picked this Altaya Renault 5 up for the bargain price of £2, yes 2 QUID!!. Got to be a bargain. Detail on it is fantastic for the money, with a fully printed interior and dashboard, and detailed chassis. Only downside I would say is the rear lights are tampo print, but for the money, well I certainly aren't going to quibble the price.
Altaya Peugeot J5 van
Something a little different from Altaya. Seen one of these on ebay recently, and it really caught my eye. Saw one on a stall today I thought 'I'm having it'. I think it is a Tour De France support van from the 1980s. You may recognise the van shape as the Talbot Express/Citroen C25/Fiat Ducato mk1. Was the reasonable price of £7.95.
Altaya Anglia
Hi, one of the Altaya Anglia's very nice rally version, that has become hard and expensive to get hold of already!

Re: Altaya Collection
Bought another half a dozen Altaya models today at a toyfair for the bargain price of a fiver a go. Photos to follow shortly, but they were a Seat Crono (Fiat 127 mk3), Seat Malaga, Seat 131 police car, Lancia Delta HF Turbo, Seat Ritmo (Fiat Strada) and a Peugeot 504 saloon.

Re: Altaya Collection
I've been looking on e-bay, and the price of Altayas is creeping upwards, plus there seems to be less and less. This stall didn't have that many to choose from to be honest, but at a fiver a pop, well.. Sadly the Toyfair its self only had about 20 stalls. Was much smaller than last time, and I was in and out in less than half an hour.
Re: Altaya Collection
Well, another few Altaya have models joined my fleet, first up from the Simca range. The Talbot Solara 1.6 LS saloon in metallic brown. Yummy!
And now a Seat 1600 rally car shown with my earlier purchase plod version
And one from La Route Bleue, a Volvo 144 saloon on a diorama. Cor!

Re: Altaya Collection
Love the 144. We had one in the late 70s early 80s so I must get hold of that.

Re: Altaya Collection
I got the Volvo from Digbys. and it was the last they had. I've already seen it on ebay for well over £8 more than what I paid.
Classic British Car Collection
Another Anglia chaps! Only got this today. Part of Eaglemoss magazine collection, it is the same casting and packaging as my other Altayas but a right hand drive.

Re: Altaya Collection
Hi, I have this web address detailing the collection http://www.classic-cars-collection.com BUT looking inside the mag there is a leaflet from the publisher saying they are suspending publication of the mag until further notice so beware

Re: Altaya Collection
Thanks for the site address.
Nice idea while it lasted... However, I think I have most of the ones I would want already, which is nice.

Re: Altaya Collection
If they'd publicised it, well maybe more of us would have heard about it, and more copies sold!
Re: Altaya Collection
Another Altaya arrived in the post this morning, this time a Talbot Alpine 1600 SX, which is RIGHT HAND DRIVE
It has one or 2 little paint faults, like over painting the roof on the d pillar on the nearside, but with a bit of care & nail varnish remover...
And with it's saloon brother, with all the blurb in French. Note it says the Alpine is a 3 speed auto.
