Re: Vanguards Vans
Early Vanguards? Made in England one? The Ransomes name still lives on here in Ipswich with the retail & business park, which I beleive occupies the land that was once Ransomes.

Sorry Marty,
I Didn't answer your points about this one. It's made in England so I assume it is an early model though I can't find a date. The box is the two part one half over other type in a red and yellow scheme with a photo of the model. It is from the 1950's-1960's Classic Commercial Vehicle range and copyright Lledo if this helps date it. E bay purchase hence the lack of knowledge
Cheers,
Kris.

Re: Vanguards Vans
I thought it was one of the early ones. I remember selling a few of these when first released. Quite a few years ago now.
Re: Vanguards Vans
That's really nice. I have it on good authority that the real thing had its problems, getting through kingpins and spring shackles rather quickly. Also, some of the gearboxes were round the other way to others ie 3rd where 1st should have been, which was nice. Interestingly, that front means it's a diesel version. The petrol ones are quite a bit different.

I was surprised when I saw the price of it to be honest. I thought eyup its a faulty (as it was in the glass cabinets on display, and probly has no mirrors..I asked for one, and the lad went into the back and brought out a sealed one...One happy bunny
Re: Vanguards Vans
Cheapest i've seen it on ebay is £14.50 plus postage, so at £7.99, its just about half price! Bargain
Re: Vanguards Vans
To use what that annoying bloke Mike Brewer on Wheeler Dealers says too often..Its Crackin'
Re: Vanguards Vans
No, it's exactly how it came out of the box. It is the LT version but only has a number and "Whitechapel" on the door.

Ah yes,
It's perfect (thought it would be ). Really is nice model isn't it and fits in with the layout a real treat. Must find you a photo of the NCB truck (not that I am trying to make you spend your money ).
