A while ago I bought some of the Hongwell Cararama 1/43 cars. I bought a mk1 Cortina, Mk1 Capri and Mk1 Escort. They arent bad models for the price, but masking & printing isn't up to decent standards. They aren't bad for between £5 & £6 though.

The thing I like about caramara cars is that they seem to pay attention to the wheels and wheel trims and look far more authentic than most.

I'm thinking about 'weathering' the Mk1 Cortina at some point, as it has a chunk out of the right hand rear wheel arch, which I'm tempted to fill with a bit of blu tac, and add some rustiness around it, and along the rest of the car..If I make a bog of it, well its only a cheapy

An Anglia to add to the Ford's, I think I prefer the Capri to be honest, loving the wheels Cool

I tried to swap the axles over to the Escort but they were too wide. With a bit of time & fettling they could be made to fit without a doubt. They arent bad for the price though.

Never too old to learn Embarassed just takes a bit longer Shocked suppose I should have twigged that ah well, cheers for the info.

as for the Capri wheels, would look great on the Escort, been thinking about having a go at a period modded Anglia, a cheap way of giving it a shot?

Aye when you think abour it..A bit of trimming with a craft knife here & there and possibly a bit of pressure from the insides to stretch the arches a bit..
